Shamanic Healing

Shamanic healing tradition doesn’t look at people as diagnostic categories. In some Western healing modalities, we might say someone is suffering from depression. And then people with depression all get generally the same sort of treatments.

Instead, shamanic healing looks at the energetic and spiritual cause underneath the depression. And no two people with “depression” would be described or treated the same way. One might be suffering from a disconnection with their own deeper essence. Another might be working out an ancestral trauma. Still, another might be out of balance energetically with the elements in their body.

I help my clients get at what’s hidden behind the issue and go from there. In this way, the path to healing is not the same for any two individuals.

Private Sessions

THE INITIAL SESSION

Because the path to healing can be vastly different for different people, this is why I start with The Initial Session. This session begins our work together. During this session, you and I get clear on the healing and changes you want to bring about in your life. And then, on your behalf, I consult with the guides and helpers to get insight and recommendations on how to get you from where you are to where you want to be.

In this first session, a road map is laid out specific to you. The road map may include recommendations for further shamanic work, personal ceremony, shamanic journeying, dreamwork, or other surprising assignments. I am always amazed by the endless creativity of Spirit to get at the root of an issue and unravel it. And always completely marveled at the efficiency and power of work done in collaboration with Spirit.

Classical shamanic healing work can be profound. I have seen long-lasting and entrenched patterns of physical and emotional pain resolve quickly with this work. Sometimes, stunningly so. Other times the energy work can be like untangling a necklace: you get one part free, and another part tightens up until the whole tangled pattern finally gives way. The unfolding and trajectory of each person are very different.

YOUR EFFORTS

This does not mean, however, that your efforts aren’t required. It will be up to you to engage with the information, guidance, and homework that might come through during any given session. As with anything, the more you engage, the more you will get out of the work.

PRIVATE GROUP SESSIONS

If you have a group and want to experience shamanic journeying, please reach out. Over the years, I have been invited to lead journey circles as a part of birthday celebrations, new mother’s blessings, youth and recovery groups, dream groups and at women’s gatherings.  Please feel free to get in touch if you’re curious about the possibilities.

Private Session Fees

FEE STATEMENT

My fee is $130 - $180per hour.

All sessions are two hours, so $260 - $360 per session.

FINANCIAL HARDSHIP

I’ll discount my fee for people who can’t afford my regular scale. If this applies to you, consider your current situation and propose a fee that seems appropriate. As I have limited space in my practice for folks who fall below my scale fee, please check in with me beforehand for availability.

A WORD ABOUT PROPOSING A FEE

Sometimes people feel uncomfortable about proposing a fee. If that’s the case, just sit quietly, tune in to the universal flow. Let a number come to you. I trust the flow to take care of you and me.

EXPERIENCING FINANCIAL ABUNDANCE?

On the opposite scale of things, I gratefully receive amounts above my regular fee scale. It’s always a lovely and surprising gesture when folks can support this way.

Private Group Session Fees

All group sessions are two hours for 4 to 6 participants.
The cost per person is $100 per session.

Private Session FAQ’S

What is an initial session like?

At the start of the session. You and I will talk a bit. Once I get a good sense of what brought you to the work and what you want to get out of it, I call in our guides and helpers. From there it’s a collaboration between you, me and them. The process then unfolds in a completely organic and individualized way. Spirit is endlessly creative. After 30 years, I still am surprised and delighted by the guidance, practices and healing offered to each person I work with.

How many sessions are necessary?

Depends on you. Depends your focus. Depends on the advice from Spirit. Some people come every other week for more intensive, in-depth work. Some once a month or every other month. Some people come a couple times a year for energy tune ups and to check in with the helping Spirits.

How is shamanic healing different?

In traditional healing societies don’t look at people in diagnostic categories. We might say someone is suffering from depression. Yet from a shamanic perspective, no two people with “depression” would be described the same way. One might be suffering from a disconnection with their own deeper essence. Another might be working out an ancestral trauma. Still another might be out of balance energetically with the elements in their body. I help my clients get at what’s hidden behind the issue and go from there.

Does it work for everyone?

I believe everyone receives help, guidance, support and healing. No exceptions.  Does that mean the work will unfold the way you want it to? Not always. Sometimes healing requires that you let go of expectation and allow what wants to happen, happen. That’s not always easy.  But with practice, you can learn to trust and partner with Spirit in a way that brings new strength, power and understanding into your life.

What kind of results can I expect?

I have seen immediate and dramatic results from this work. I have seen slow steady progress. And everything in between. After decades of doing this work, I still find it remarkable the transformation that can happen with and through Spirit. However, even with dramatic and immediate results, this work isn’t a magic pill. It will require commitment, action, and effort on your part.

Is there physical contact during in person sessions?

At the moment, I am not seeing clients in person. However, during in person sessions some physical contact may be offered such as laying on of hands or smudging. You, of course, may decline. At its core shamanic healing is a form of energy work and physical touch is not necessary to get the desired results.

Can this work be done long distance?

Absolutely. Since the pandemic I am working exclusively online. If you questions about this, please contact me.

Do you have a diversity and inclusion statement?

I am committed to being anti-racist. As such I recognize that black, indigenous, Latino,   Asian, and immigrant lives matter. LGBTQ lives matter. Human dignity matters.  All people have the right to live free of overt and covert emotional and psychological aggression of an oppressive system and society.

As a white, cis gendered, hetero, middle class, educated person, I do my best to recognize my privilege and blind spots. I commit to engaging in uncomfortable conversations should they arise. I commit to course correcting where I have tripped up (and I might), stay open hearted, and apologize. My intent is to do my best to earn your trust so that you can get the healing that drew you to this work in the first place.

Do you have a climate change and environmental statement?

The condition human health spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically is bound to the health of the natural world. A foundation of shamanic practice is that life should always be at the center of how we live and the decisions we make. To this end I do my best to keep these ideals in the forefront of my mind when making decisions about how I live and work.

I still have questions, how can I get in touch?

Please feel free to email me at jenniferhintonMA@gmail.com. I also offer monthly Journey Circles which everyone is welcome to join. That’s a great way to learn a little bit about this practice and get to know me before booking a session. Sign up for my newsletter to get the announcements.
